The Jagiellonian Center for Artificial Intelligence initiates and coordinates interdisciplinary research and educational projects, covering both the theory of artificial intelligence and its practical applications across various scientific disciplines.

The Center's tasks include, in particular:

1. conducting scientific research and R&D activities in the field of artificial intelligence;
2. providing education and training for students, doctoral candidates, and staff at the Jagiellonian University on the use of AI tools (including through research-led education);
3. building an interdisciplinary research community focused on AI and its tools, involving staff, students, and doctoral candidates from the Jagiellonian University, as well as external partners;
4. promoting and popularizing knowledge about artificial intelligence;
5. initiating development activities regarding the application of AI tools in all fields of science, as well as within the operational framework of the Jagiellonian University;
6. providing expert and advisory services in creating a suite of AI-based tools accessible to Jagiellonian University employees;
7. collaborating with similar scientific and research institutions, both domestic and international, as well as with partners from the socio-economic environment;
8. applying for national and international funding, including grants to support the development of the Jagiellonian University's technological infrastructure in the field of artificial intelligence and its tools.
